Oh Hey,
I’m Jen and it’s lovely to meet you.
A graduate of Grays School of Art, I took a detour via Events Management and Marketing before realising it was lettering that really set my soul on fire and calmed my stressed mind. I’ve spent years refining my craft, learning from the masters, and attending many courses in Calligraphy and Hand Lettering before starting Toasty Type in 2018.
From my bright studio in the East End of Glasgow, I create beautiful artworks for a range of clients including Edinburgh Gin, Caorunn Gin, Collins Debden Stationery, Edrington and Macallan Whiskey, Hotels.com, Lululemon, and Kiehls as well as private commissions. My work is popular with couples who regularly order unique signage and painted jackets to add personality to their weddings!
I also teach calligraphy in private classes and for companies looking to add to their wellness programs. Over the years I’ve helped many eager students across the UK learn the beautiful art of Modern Calligraphy. I am passionate about the stress-busting powers of creativity, and an advocate for mindfulness through calligraphy.
In my spare time, you can find me wild swimming in a chilly loch, spending time with my family, and finding other creative adventures to try!
